After Mike graduated from law school class and passed the bar, he went to work at the largest commercial real estate company on the North Shore of Massachusetts. He also managed the day to day activities of a large number of clients. Utilizing his legal knowledge and expert negotiating skills, Mike was able to work with clients and other industry professionals to successfully negotiate complex, high stakes, and lucrative leases and business arrangements.
During law school, Mike held positions with the Law Offices of Benjamin Taylor, the Virginia Public Defender's Office, and Tarbell & Brodich in Concord, NH, specifically working in the area of criminal defense. When he and his wife decided to settle down in New Hampshire, Mike immediately decided to continue working in the arena of criminal defense. His ability to find specific legal issues with client cases and strong communication skills allow him to work with prosecutors to either find a mutually agreeable disposition to a case, or defend his clients' rights vehemently at trial.
Mike has been very successful in garnering favorable outcomes, and achieving client goals, both at trial and negotiating plea agreements. For example, Mike was able to successfully argue for a not guilty verdict for client facing felony charges, as well as most receiving a not guilty verdict on all counts for an aggravated DWI with an alleged breath test result double the legal limit. Another notable highlight includes getting a .24 Aggravated DWI and DMV license suspension dismissed with a plea to reckless driving.
Attorney Chen has handled over 100 DWI cases since joining the firm.
